Jackie Otero is the owner of creative music agency Jackie O Media, based in Orlando, Florida. With a B.A. from Yale and an M.A. in Music Business from NYU, she has held positions at artist management firms in San Francisco and New York, working with artists including Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Aimee Mann, and Ian Axel of A Great Big World. As an independent consultant, Jackie has written business plans for music publishing companies, strategic licensing plans for artists, and expert opinions for music business book publishers. She also wrote a regular column on music licensing for alternative music publication The Comet, interviewing distinguished industry professionals such as composer Alan Menken and music supervisor Maureen Crowe. Recent credits have included music supervising the documentary film Hydro Soul, and contributing an essay to the book Song Stories. She also currently serves as the Program Director of Entertainment and Music Business at Full Sail University.
